For sale here is a HUGE vintage 1970s 80s signed one of a kind handmade mixed metals sterling brass and copper modernist brutalist Floral design cuff bracelet by the very well known American artist/metalsmith Judith Kaufman. An incredible entirely handmade one of a kind creation by a talented artist and metalsmith! Here's a short bio of the artist that I put together from online sources...
Judith Kaufman has been making jewelry since the late 1970s/early 1980s. Her work has been featured at juried exhibitions and museums, and she has been honored by awards from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the American Craft Council. Her jewelry is also in the permanent collections of the Museum of Art and Design in New York City, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and is sought after by many private collectors. Her work is included in Contemporary American Jewelry and 500 Gemstone Jewels, and has appeared in numerous publications, including a cover of Metalsmith magazine. Her earlier work is in silver and other less precious metals, but her later work up to today is in gold and precious gems.
This bracelet is no doubt from her early days as a studio metalsmith, and is hand-signed as shown in my photos. Measures 2-1/8" wide at top and fits up to 7" wrist with 5-7/8" inside circumference plus 1-1/8" gap at back, but can be easily (professionally) adjusted up or down a couple sizes if needed. Weighs a hefty 54.8 grams total. Hand etched signature inside surface as shown, "J. Kaufman". Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
