For sale here is an ICONIC vintage 1950s handmade married metals silver brass and copper Mexican modernist tray by Los Castillo of Taxco. Entirely handmade in five shades of metal: light and dark silver, copper, and light and dark brass! An abstract modernist design that I call 'patchwork' and by Chato Castillo for the family firm. A design that they used in a number of items including trays of various shapes and sizes, as well as pitchers, salt and pepper shakers, tumblers and cups, and large serving platters! One of the larger trays in this design, this one measures 13-1/2" by 10-1/8". It was probably intended to carry drinks, but this one likely was mounted on the wall of displayed in a case as its nearly flawless. Weighs 980 grams ( just less than 1 kilogram) or just under 2.2 pounds prior to packing. Fully marked at back as shown, "Los Castillo Taxco Hecho en Mexico Handwrought" and design number "95". In really incredible vintage condition with just fine light wear and just the barest tarnish as shown, and nothing that a quick wipe with a sunshine cloth wouldn't remove if you prefer it absolutely shiny and new - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
