For sale here is a BIG and quite rare pair of vintage 1950s handmade married metals sterling silver brass and copper Mexican modernist cufflinks by Los Castillo of Taxco. Originally no doubt a Chato Castillo design in his famous abstract 'patchwork' design, and this pair in a rare 5 shades of metal including dark and light silver, dark and light brass, and copper. Originally among the most expensive cufflink designs by Los Castillo due to the technical virtuosity required by the metalsmith, and the great length of time required to make them. Even the most skillful craftsman would usually require a day or two to make this single pair of cufflinks! Each measures 1-1/8" by 3/4" at fronts, and the pair weigh a hefty 26.6 grams total. Marked at backs as shown, "Los Castillo Taxco" and the earliest Eagle stamp #15 which means these cufflinks are from the early 1950s. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
