For sale here is a gorgeous masterpiece of modernist copper enamel by pioneering enamel artist Gwendolyn Orsinger Anderson (1912-2013). Mounted on a wood base with fabric matting, this copper enamel artwork is a beatiful still life of a vase filled with luscious flowers. Measures 18-1/2" by 15-1/2" framed, and the enamel section at center measures 12-1/2" by 10". I've included a screen grab of a short bio of the artist in the photos section. For an artist who worked for so many years, her artworks are relatively scarce and no doubt unique one of a kind pieces. This is a particularly fine example! No signature at front, but it may be at the back of the enamel plaque which I haven't removed to check. There is still the original label at back as shown with the artist address etc also marked "Orsini". Still in the original period frame and matte, and as you can see the frame is in relatively good condition with a couple nicks here and there and some fine light wear at the outer edges, but the fabric matting is stained and spotted and should probably be replaced. Also the enamel plaque is tacked to the wood backing in the four corners, but one of the tacks is missing at the bottom right as shown in my close-up photo. However, there is no danger of the enamel coming off the backing, and it is firmly in place. Otherwise great shape with no damage, crazing, or missing enamel - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
