For sale here is a fascinating vintage 1980s one of a kind handmade copper enamel literary French design necklace. I call it literary because the decoration looks like newsprint or paperwork of some kind or perhaps a postmark on an envelope, and is in French. A few of the links have the date February 15, 1936 (in French), but not much seems to have happened on that date except that Sonja Henie won the gold in the Ladies Figure skating championship at the Olympics. Perhaps that date had personal significance to the original owner, hard to say. A most unusual and no doubt one of a kind necklace! The plaques are copper enamel, and they are joined by brass links, and the closure at the end is either unmarked silver, or silver-plate. Measures 19-3/4" in wearable length by 1-1/2" at widest point. Weighs 64 grams total. Unmarked. Most of the links are counter enameled in blue, but a couple aren't. Not sure why, but it's intentional, not damage. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
