For sale here is a SUPERB vintage 1970s handmade sterling silver Native Tribal modernist money clip by Hopi artist/metalsmith Mitchell Sockyma of Arizona. Here's a short bio I found online for the artist...
This artist was born at Hotevilla, Hopi Pueblo, Arizona where he learned to make jewelry, and has been doing so since the 1970s. His work is in the collection of the Peabody Museum at Harvard University, and has been featured in numerous publications including American Indian Art Magazine.
Typical superlative design and superb craftsmanship of this well-lauded artist! Measures 1-3/4" by 1" and weighs a hefty 33.2 grams total. Marked at back with the Turtle maker mark of Sockyma. Tested and guaranteed to be as described. There is some waviness to the back of the clip where it has probably been bent during use, but no damage and not at all noticeable. Otherwise excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
