For sale here is a SUPERB vintage 1960s handmade copper enamel abstract modernist tray by Bovano of Cheshire, Conn. Here's a short bio I found online of the company...
A family owned company, Bovano was founded in 1952 by Jim Bower under the name Bower Enamels. Bower and partner John Bonsignor focused on making copper enameled plates and trays until the 1960's, when new partner David Flood joined the company. Known as Bovano of Connecticut, Flood became owner of the company in 1975 and Bovano now concentrates on making enameled tabletop sculptural pieces including flowers, trees, birds and butterflies.
This very colorful and large-format tray measures 10-1/8" by 10-1/8" and stands 1/2" high at rim. Still retains it's original label at back as shown. There are a couple very small areas of crazing that are not at all noticeable when displayed. In fact, you have to hold the tray at an angle and look very closely at it to see them! There is also some very very fine edge wear that may just be original variation of this handmade artwork - otherwise excellent vintage condition with no missing enamel as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
