For sale here is a geometric design vintage 1950s handmade sterling silver and azurmalachite inlay Mexican modernist hinged bangle bracelet by Miguel Melendez of Taxco. Melendez started out as an apprentice with Spratling and moved to Los Castillo and later to Margot where he became her manager before opening his own shop. His designs are always very strong, and the craftsmanship is the highest quality! This bracelet measures 5/8" wide by 7-1/2" wearable inside circumference, and weighs a hefty 43.9 grams total. Marked inside as shown with his maker mark above "Taxco", also "Sterling Hecho en Mexico", and Eagle 3 is on the underside of the tongue of the box clasp. The usual original irregularities to the stone inlay, but no damage. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
