For sale here is a RARE and incredible one of a kind vintage 1950s sterling silver and prong set hand-carved amethyst pre-Columbian-inspired 'face' hinged bangle bracelet by Felipe Martinez of Piedra Y Plata (Stone and Silver) in Taxco Mexico. Exceptional carving of the stone combined with sleek modernist silver-work makes this an outstanding statement piece! The carved amethyst measures about 1-1/4" by 7/8" by 5/8" at thickest, and I'm estimating is about 40 carats total weight of very high quality precious amethyst. The stone alone is worth most of the asking price for this bracelet, and is no longer replaceable for any price! The stone measures 1-1/8" long by 3/4" wide by 1/2" deep, and I'm guesstimating it to be about 50 carats. The bracelet measures 1-3/4" wide at top, fits up to 7" wrist (snugly), and weighs a hefty 68.2 grams total. Fully marked inside band as shown, "Piedra Y Plata Sterling Taxco Martinez" . Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
