For sale here is a very rare and huge vintage 1950s signed handmade marbled Bakelite bangle bracelet designed by Bill Atkinson for Glenn of Michigan. Beautifully marbled huge bracelet that will make a statement on the wrist! It's very rare to find one of these bracelets period, but to also find it with the designer/maker label intact is amazing! Bill Atkinson was an architect in the 1950s who designed a clothing item for his wife that was so popular that it led to him becoming a successful clothing designer, and he also designed many of the accessories that went with the clothing including jewelry. Glen of Michigan was the clothing company that he worked for at first, and this is an example of the continued use of Bakelite in the 1950s after the war. (Remember that the random dot and bowtie bracelets were made by Elkaim in NYC in the 1950s also.) Measures just under 2" wide and with the standard inside diameter of 2-1/2". Retains it's original sticker on the inside wall of the bracelet as shown in my photo marked "Bill Atkinson Glen of Michigan". Excellent vintage condition with just the finest light wear as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
