For sale here is an original vintage 1961 exhibition lithograph for the artist Jun Dobashi for an exhibition at the Galerie Fricker and published by Desjobert Paris. The exhibition was of gouache and lithography by the artist. Marked at the bottom "Imp. E. et J. Desjobert, Paris". Measures 18" by 26". In great vintage shape, although there are a couple small spots at the bottom near the bottom edge, there is some flea-bite wear along one edge near the top, and there is gallery tape residue on the reverse. None of these will detract from this vintage beauty when it's hung. This artwork has never been framed, and will ship rolled.
This is one of several vintage artworks that I have acquired, along with many other works of graphic art, from the estate of a former gallery owner from San Francisco. The Eric Locke Gallery was famous in it's day for championing the graphics arts by up and coming artists from around the world, and was one of only two galleries in San Francisco at the time that sold graphic arts when it opened, the other being the world-famous Gumps. The Eric Locke gallery was open from 1955 to 1965, though all the artworks were acquired prior to 1964, when the proprietor had a stroke and was no longer able to run the business. After closing the gallery in 1965, these artworks were placed in storage until the present, and I purchased them directly from Eric Locke's longtime partner.
