For sale here is a HUGE rare vintage 1950s 60s handmade copper enamel and fused glass link bracelet by modernist Ruth Buol (1903-1982) of Carmel California. Gorgeous pink and white enamel and glass with some streaks of a golden yellow enamel in places. Buol is well known for exactly this type of dimensional copper enamel jewelry with chunky pieces of glass fused on top of the enamel to form abstract designs. Her work is quite rare, especially the larger and more attractive color combinations and designs like this one! Buol was born in 1903 in Danbury, Connecticut, and studied abroad for many years in Italy and France. She worked in enamels from 1951 onwards, and lived for several years in Carmel California where she owned and operated her own art gallery showing her own work exclusively. She passed away in 1982. Most of this information is from "Art and Artists of the Monterey Peninsula" published in 1969. Bracelet measures 2" wide by 6-1/2" wearable length, and can be easily lengthened with the addition of extra goldtone links at both ends. Marked in the enamel at back as shown "Buol". Excellent vintage condition with fine light wear and very minor edgewear as shown - please view the photos, read the description and my terms below, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
