For sale here is a rare and striking vintage 1950s handmade sterling silver and citrine modernist ring by James Parker of San Diego California. Parker's jewelry is very rare, always one of a kind, and entirely handmade. Parker was a fixture on the San Diego craft scene of the mid century, a member of the Allied Craftsmen of San Diego, and one of the few from the area that had his work shown in the California Design exhibitions of the 1950s-70s in Pasadena. Several of his pieces were also featured in the exhibition, "San Diego Craft Revolution" at the Mingei Museum in San Diego in 2011/2012. His jewelry is very distinctive, usually made in heavy gauge silver and often with stones or enamel. Marked as shown with Parker's very distinctive conjoined JP in an oval maker mark. Tested and guaranteed to be solid sterling silver. Measures 7/8" diameter at top, and size 9.5 US on my ring mandrel (fits my size 9.5 finger snugly). Weighs 14.6 grams. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
