For sale here is a fine vintage 1950s 60s abstract acrylic painting on board in it's original gold-painted wood frame and white leather matte with circular cut-out at center by American artist Norman Earl Jacky (1926-2017). A one of a kind artwork in a one of a kind frame and matte! Jacky was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 1926, and later served in the Army Air Corps during World War 2. He returned to his birthplace after the war where he met and married his wife while working as a commercial artist and designer. They moved to Seattle Washington in 1957 where Jacky worked for Boeing until 1970 while also pursuing a career as a fine-arts painter. This painting is from that era (see label at back of painting). Jacky and his wife moved to Southern California in 1970 where he lived until his death in 2017. He exhibited extensively and received many awards for his art which is held in both private and public collections in the US. The painted gold wood frame measures 28.5" wide by 23" tall at the outside edges. The circular cut-out of the white leather matte measures 16" diameter which is also the image area of the painting. Signed at front as shown, "Jacky" with an additional mark possibly a date which I can't make out. Also retains it's original gallery label at back giving the title of the painting, "Palette" etc. as shown. Excellent vintage condition with some fine light wear smudging and spotting to the matte that may clean off though I've left it as found - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
