For sale here is a RARE and huge vintage 1950s handmade copper enamel geometric modernist Figure pendant on black cord necklace by San Diego California mid century artist/craftsman Barney Reid. One of the giants of the San Diego craft movement from the mid-century, his work was prominently featured in the exhibition and book, "San Diego Craft Revolution" at the Mingei Museum back in 2011-12 along with his contemporaries Jackson and Ellamarie Woolley and James Parker among others. An exceptional and outstanding design, this pendant measures 3" diameter and hangs on it's original black fabric cord that can be adjusted to fit different sizes. The pendant and cord weigh 54.1 grams total, the majority of which is the pendant. Marked at back as shown, "B M Reid" for Barney Reid. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light edge wear to the enamel as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
