For sale here is a HUGE and extraordinary vintage 1950s handmade sterling silver modernist Sun Face design brooch pin pendant from the Emaus workshop of the Benedictine Monks of Cuernavaca Mexico. The monks sold their works in the famous Sanborn's department store in Mexico City, and also in the Los Castillo shop in Taxco, and their work was both highly regarded and well received by the public in their time. Sun Faces were a common motif in their work, and I've seen a lot of Sun Face jewelry by them, but this is by far the largest and most impressive example that I've run across in my many years of collecting and selling Mexican silver. Would look great on a chain, a black cord, or even on a torque neckring. (If you would like, I can include a vintage sterling neckring for an additional $45, just let me know before paying for your purchase so I can add the charge to the invoice, OR I can include a length of black cord at no additional charge - please specify the length required when ordering.) Measures 4-3/8" by 4-1/4" and weighs 33.4 grams total. Marked on the pendant bail as shown, "Emaus 925" and Eagle 3. This pendant came to me with it's patina (and tarnish) intact, and I haven't touched it. A little polish of the highlights might render it a tad more dramatic, but that's up to the new owner. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and original tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
