For sale here is a BIG vintage 1950s 60s handmade sterling silver and green stone (azurmalachite) inlay Mexican modernist design brooch pin pendant by Taxco artist/silversmith Miguel Melendez. Melendez started his career working for Spratling in the 1930s and moved with the Castillos when they opened their shop. He later moved with Margot at the opening of her business, and opened his own in the late 1950s. Measures 2" by 2-1/8" and weighs 18.9 grams total. Marked "Sterling", Eagle 1, Miguel Melendez maker mark, and "Taxco" at back. This pendant would look equally great on a torque neckring, or on a black fabric cord as well! There is some irregularity to the green stone inlay which is original and not damage. Excellent vintage condition with just fine light wear and tarnish as shown - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
