Hand formed or moulded fired porcelain clay, with hand painted underglaze and overglaze decorations.
Impressed chop mark on bottom under glaze.

Very good to excellent used condition, with some wear to the gilding and some rubbing and scratch marks in the surface of the plate. It does have some very minute flakes to the foot base. It does not detract from this plate in anyway. All commensurate with its age and minimal use.

This Japanese Imari Porcelain Round Plate, with its scalloped rim and beautiful details of alternating panels of birds and floral motif, is a fine example of late 19th or early 20th century Imari ware. Its vibrant deep blue underglaze with the high gloss glazes of Iron red, green and gilding details, along with the matte glazes of orange and iron red.
This Imari porcelain plate functions and or displays beautifully.
