Detailed Description:
This traditional hand made Native American black pottery vessel, made by the potter Betty Tafoya, is a wonderful example of native pottery design. It has a wonderful substantial form, showing its finely hand polished surface with a carved and incised motif. It will display well wherever you may choose to use it.

Betty Tafoya (b. 1933-1988) was the wife of Lee Tafoya (b.1926-1996) who was the grandson of Sara Fina Tafoya and the son of Margaret Tafoya, he and his wife, Betty Tafoya, are the parents of Phyllis Tafoya, Melvin Tafoya, and Linda Tafoya Oyenque, all of whom are also renown potters. Lee and Betty, from Santa Clara Pueblo, worked together and co-signed their pottery. This particular piece of pottery was made exclusively by Betty Tafoya.
