Detailed Description:
This traditional and early hand made Native American black pottery round tapered vessel with its finely carved details done in a black on black finish, made by the native potter Stella Chavarria of the Santa Clara Pueblo, it is a wonderful example of native pottery design. It has a wonderful substantial form, showing its round shape and carved detailed motif along its outer body with finely hand polished surface.
Stella Chavarria born into the Santa Clara Pueblo in 1939, is the daughter of Teresita Naranjo, granddaughter of Christina Naranjo, great granddaughter of Serafina Tafoya, wife of Loretto Chavarria. Stella began making pottery around 1955. This pot will display well wherever you may choose to use it.
