Offering this original pencil drawing, signed by the artist Ed. Merz (possibly Edward Merz or Eduard Merz). The sight area measures 11 by 8 inches approximately, overall size including the mat is 13 1/2 by 10 inches. Offered unframed as found. Condition is good with yellowing throughout and a few soil marks (see photo for detail). Signed in pencil in the lower left. The sign in the drawing reads "Great American Tea Company". This was the name of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company prior to 1869. I am not sure exactly how old this drawing is, however, considering the paper and materials it is easily over 100 years old. Despite its condition, this is a nice piece of Americana and advertising art. Properly framed, this work will really shine and is sure to be a great conversation piece.
