An original Acrylic on board painting, circa 1970s, by the well known and prolific NY artist Morris Katz. This painting is presented in a sturdy carved frame that is an exceptional value in its own right. The size of the actual painting is 24 x 12 inches. This is one of the better Katz paintings I have seen. This "quick" landscape consists of thickly applied paint typical of Katz's works. In all, this painting is "collection worthy" and is sure to please any Jewish Art or Katz collector. Morris Katz (b 1932) of Greenwich Village, NYC, is the most prolific painter of saleable works in the world. His total sold. as of July 1, 1988, was 181,818. Described now as a ''realistic impressionistic" modern artist. Katz appears regularly, on cable TV on the ''Instant Art Show". He paints with palette knife and crushed pads of paper and sells his paintings ''cheap and often.'' He also sct other records- painting a 12 x 16 in canvas of a child in the snow in 30 sec at the Roma Pizza Guinness Record Holders Convention in NYC, May 9 1988 and painting for 12 hours non-stop except for rest breaks at the Penta Hotel NYC on July 15, 1987 during which time he made 103 paintings and sold 55 on the spot donating the proceeds to thc Boy Scouts of America.
