Fine original painting, oil on canvas, by the listed late 19th century New Bedford, Ma, artist Nicholas Brignati. This vintage work measures an impressive 20 x 28 inches and is presented in a period gold frame (painted gold). Signed by the artist in the lower right corner. Painting is in very good condition, with the exception of being a little dark due to age. This painting would greatly benefit from a surface cleaning to bring out all of the wonderful colors and detail. Certainly this work would be well worth the trouble. The surface of the painting is nice and stable with no signs of flaking, holes, or repairs. The age of this work appears to be around 1930 give or take a few years. Fresh from a local estate. This is a great example of a Venetian scene, something this artist was particularly fond of painting. Briganti is a well listed artist with strong auction records. An excellent investment quality artwork for addition to any quality collection
