18"(46CM) Antique French automaton Jumeau size 2 "Lady with fan" by ROULLET DECAMPS , Paris circa 1890
MEASURES
velvet squared platform 15cm x 15cm ( 6")
DOLL DEPOSE JUMEAU size 2 bisque closed mouth
18" (46 cm.) overall. Standing upon a velvet covered wooden base that contains clockwork mechanism is a bisque headed lady with large brown glass paperweight inset eyes,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accented lips,pierced ears,bisque shoulderplate,shapely torso,paper mache legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms. When wound,the lady turns her head from side to side,and alternately lifts her bouquet and her fan. Condition is generally excellent,mechanism and music function well. Marked doll back of head " Depose Tete Jumeau 2 (head). "La Chasse des Princes" (name of music)
