Well it seems we are lucky. As we are professional dealers we are able to leave our country, pass through Belgium and enter France. Afcourse with all the paperwork and a test that we are Covid-free. So we left in the morning our house and off we went. Packed with some food for the journey and the simple diner in the hotelroom. We miss the restaurants and the meetings for sure but we need to be indoors at 18.00 hours. In the afternoon we met up with some dealers and where able to buy some nice things. That is always a good start. We had fine weather and the next day it would be nice too. And so it was, nice weather is important a market because otherwise the keep there small stock inside there vans. We both start searching and meet up a few times or contacted to telephone to discuss some items. After some hours we both where happy to find some special items. It isn’t about how many items we find, it is what we find must be different. We really like that, how stranger the better.
In the afternoon with had lunch in the car. We stopped at a trucker-restaurant and we bought a take away meal. Nice with a beer and red wine to relax and enjoy our visit. To get the brains in order again we always finish with a large coffee and the journey went on. Some shops where visited and some nice items where found. The third day we visited the second large market. After a four hours search we where happy but almost braindead. The concentration is high when we search and we get tired in the end which is normal. Also we where lucky to find some really strange French objects.
Then a quick meal: French bread with Merquis-sausage and a Perrier-water. Checking all the items and place them in good order in the car. A walk with Zeuske our dog and driving home again. After some time we realised we didn’t had coffee, but that is for the next time. The drive home was very good, even Paris gave less trouble, and we arrived on a normal time at home. We hope you will enjoy the new items that will be placed coming days. Love and greetings Jolanda and Ben
