One of the new acquisitions of antique hunting in France.
A unique decoration piece related to the size and age of antique dolls and bears.
Amazing French wonderful 19th century paper on wood moving marble game.
Beautiful in size and design, these great French antique (circa 1890) lithographs paper on wooden moving marble game. It is finished in wonderful antique colors and has a cabinet size.
The Four unloading child figures that REALLY swing when one throws a marble into the opening at the top of the marble gambling game and then rolls it down.
When this clay marble has passed the last girl with the banner and the text (m'oubliez pas = don't forget me), the marble rolled into a container with points. Let's hope this marble also scores points.
The swing mechanism is a very simple system: the marble hits a metal plate on the inside so that the children figures swing at the front. This beautiful little box contains 12 clay marbles.
When played out it is easy to store. Place the clay marbles in the small box, take the top part from the base part. Place the first box of balls on top of the base part and the top part will follow. Most likely it has been accompanied by a lid.
Good antique played-with condition. The back plate of the standing part to which the swing children are attached, the paper has only been left a little loose and therefore slightly wavy.
Base: 7 3/4 inch (19,5 cm wide x 16,5 inch (42 cm) long x 3 inch (7,5 cm) high
Top part standing in base part: 17 inch (43 cm) high x 7 inch (17,8 cm) wide x 1,5 inch (4 cm) deep
A new year and new changes. Always feels good. So we went off for a other visit to our lovely French country to do a antique tour. And with that we mean trying to buy. So we went driving early mondaymorning. First a fill up at the petrolstation and then to the beach for a good walk and play with Zeuske our dog (45 kilo power it is). When arriving on the beach first sunlight was up and it was a fine walk. Back in the car our drive to France started and this went really well. Paris was not big deal (traffic) and some local dealers where visited. In the evening we reached our hotel. Now a days we have to be in early and eating is simple on the hotelroom. We had a nice day with some items and a sunny drive. Tuesday would be fine day too, well they said.
Early tuesday morning up, shower first and dogwalk in some rain, mmmm. The weather changed and instead of sun we had a very, very fresh shower on the market. So that means windforce, 2 degree celcius and rain. Brrrrrrrrrrrr that is cold. So we started in darknes searching and when it became light we a lots of rain. We founds some nice items but after two hours we where both frozen to the bone and we stopped. Happy to be back in the car and getting warm. But tuesday the weather was good again and we had a lovely long search. So overall happy and we went back home to recheck our new found treasures.
Thanks for visiting our store, greetings Jolanda and Ben
