This is one of the new acquisitions of antique hunting in France last week.
Palais Royal BACCARAT opaline glass from the 19th century Carriage, drawn by finely modeled Goat. This pincushion is the hinged lid attached to the opaline glass basket. Opaline glass basket is in the shape of a cart. Little sewing supplies were stored in this basket, like a thimble, among other tiny things. The pincushion still has the originals 19th century sea blue velvet. This has some wear and discoloration that belongs to old age. It is of course a great collector piece to add to all kinds of collections, sewing equipment, opaline glass, with a small mignonette doll, ect.
A great item in good antique condition
High:5.5 inch ( 14 cm).
Deep:6.5 inch (16.5 cm)
Wide:2.75 inch (7 cm)
We have just returned from an antique hunting trip from France.
These started in the French town of Lille. This French border city is just over the Belgian border. There we have already managed to get some nice things. Then towards the coast to Dieppe (this city was known for the high quality carving in the 18th and 19th centuries. The castle towering over the city of Dieppe is built on one of the chalk cliffs in it is a museum dedicated to the carvers from this region). There too, some nice business could have been done with traders. The next day to paris, there a few days started a good search and with good results. Back in our car and the journey continued towards the Loire Valley region and back home via Normandy, Hauts de France and Bruges in Belgium. It was another great week.
Everything was good about it, the weather, French food and wines, of course, not forgetting the antiques.
Greetings Jolanda and Ben and thanks for visiting our store.
