This antique 19 century Swedish primitive pine wood box with hand forged dome nails was used for drying apples and to chop meat up with Swedish meat knifes for making sausage meat that was made by taking 2 meat knifes one in each hand and mince the meat up for making the sausage . This has been being made this way before meat grinders in Sweden going back to the viking time era. The box has fine patina and the dome nails pointing to a age under the 1800`s . Out side measurements length 17 1/2 in x 12 3/4 in wide and height 4 1/4 in , inside 15 5/8 in x 11 in and the depth 3 1/4 in . The wt. is 3.4 kilos or 7.5 lbs . A really great antique box that can be use for all type of decorations or for drying apples in as the wood is clean for this type of use . The box will give a nice rustic look for home and cabin .
