A 19th c. black painted plaster bust of a blackamoor, most likely the Venetian literary/historical figure, Othello the Moor. This lifesize or larger, well sculpted male head is turned slightly to the right, with a handsome countenance and doleful expression. On a black conforming wooden base. Plaster, as well as terra cota, were often used media in sculpture.
CONDITION: Excellent. No evidence of damage.
