19th century English stool. Simple and timeless primitive ash / elm 4-legged low stool with wedged construction. Remains of old brown paint on the square seat and dark stain elsewhere. Whittled and splayed legs wedged through a square slab seat with one leg strengthened by a nail through the seat – this an early / historic working repair, as shown. Excellent original antique condition with sound construction and proper wear to the surfaces. No restoration.
Stool height is 6”. Seat is 7” x 7”.
