LARGE 19th century Victorian copper watering can. Hand-made from a combination of metals – copper body and pouring spout, brass hoop at the base and a brass top, and rolled steel handle - it is perhaps an original, one-of-a-kind copper can. Made from very heavy, and thick-gauge copper sheets with rolled rims, and a combination of copper and steel rivets. The handle at the top has a reinforced grip, and both handles were designed for extra support and sturdiness. There are some remnants of black paint (or similar) to the body - possibly the result of an accidental encounter - which adds to the overall visual appeal and has been left as is.
PLEASE NOTE that the watering can is very heavy.
Condition: Original antique condition and beautiful patina.
Size: Maximum height with handle at the top is 14 ¾”. Height without handle is 10 ¼”. Maximum width from handle to spout is 17 ½”. Diameter is 8 ½”.
