Early 20th century pharmacy stoneware mortar and pestle. Smaller-sized mortar and original pestle. Both are impressed with a size mark “2” that appears on the mortar base, and on the top end of the pestle head. An impressed mark on the mortar base reads “warranty acid proof”. No manufacturer’s marks but probably Thomas Maddock & Sons Co. Very good condition with minor wear to the wood handle. No restoration.

Mortar diameter at the top is 5 ¼”. Base diameter is 3 ½”. Height is 3 ½”. Pestle length is 7 ½”.
