Antique English ceramic butter dish, with a blue-willow pattern, paired with white-banded milk jug, c.1910. The butter serving dishing has a molded design and the word “butter” along the rim that is akin to the carved pattern found on treen butter dishes lined with a blue-willow patterned liner. Here the willow pattern is printed underneath the glaze, and the outermost rim, is gilt-edged. There is discoloration along the inner-most rim edge and also, a bit of discoloration in one area along the rim itself. The barrel-shaped milk jug has lathe-turned banding, and a blue, crest or logo on its front. The jug comes in excellent, near-perfect condition with only a small discolored spot on the inside to note.
Butter dish measures 6 ¼” in diameter. Jug is 6” tall.
