19th century English block steel stamp address dies. This is a collection of four beautiful and original sample sheets of letterhead addresses embossed in a variety of styles and dies, and stamped onto watermarked paper. Two of the sheets are folded into pamphlets and are identical. Instructions are given at the top and bottom of each page informing customers that “orders should be written most distinctly” and that “the number denotes style of the die and stamping”. The dies are well-preserved, and all four sheets are in very good antique condition with some soiling present on the inside of one of the pamphlets. The sheets vary in size and range from: 4 ½” x 6 ¼” to 5 ½” x 8 ¼”.
