Antique European textile samples catalogues for gent’s suiting, dated 1912 and 1913. The catalogues have paper covers with a black and white illustration of a suited gent and 10 pages of fine wool textile swatches. The 1913 catalogue has swatches for formal evening attire only, and hence all are variations of black, dark navy and dark gray cloth. Fabric swatches for daytime and casual sporting suits is contained in the 1912 catalogue.
Condition: Good to fair. All swatches are present with some swatches moth-eaten, and a few others requiring some re-adhesion, as shown. The pages have yellowed, but in general, both catalogues are preserved and provide some interesting insight into the fashion tastes of the early 20th century.
