Antique English china Grimwade Patent Safety Milk Bowl c.1890-1910. It is a large lipped bowl with a grip handle and turned inward rim, and was produced as part of Grimwade’s Household Hygienic Wares Range. Its unique design merits are advertised underneath, in green transfer-printed letting and includes such claims as, “Prevents Flies Walking Into The Milk” and “Wont Slop over”.
Condition: Very good general condition with a normal degree of glaze wear and light discoloration on the inside base (not very discernible in the images). Clean and usable condition. No chips, cracks or restoration. A firing flaw in the form of a superficial crack is present along the spout base and spots from kiln debris is present in other areas.
Size:16 ½” width from handle to spout. Diameter the top is 13 ½”. Height is 5”.
