Late 19th century toleware shop storage tins for SEEDS. These are japanned black canisters each with a hand-painted seed on the front to indicate their intended purpose. On one of the canisters, “anise” is handwritten over the seed. These are decorative, and interesting, garden-related pieces that come in good, and well-preserved antique condition. There is normal wear that includes scratches and minor dents and also some wear to the exterior of the anise canister, as shown. The lids are removable though occasionally one lid is a little temperamental. The interiors are in good condition.
Size: 9 ½” high. Diameter is 3 ¾”.
