19th century French brass monogram stencils for ornate textile embroidery work. These are the larger-sized, hand-cut stencils used to produce monograms that were hand-embroidered onto large linen dowry sheets. The patina is an appealing warm hue, and though the metal is brass, they’ve taken on more of a copper-colored hue in part due to discoloration caused by the ink used. These are decorative objects in their own right and are still useable. They come in very good antique condition with wear that is commensurate with use. Displayed taped to the surface.
