Late 19th century, southern Italian glazed terracotta preserve jar. A splendid, hand-formed domestic pot with an abundance of glaze wear and imperfections. It none-the-less, appeals for its unpretentious rustic form, its neutral creamy custard colored tones, and subtle variations in texture.
Condition: Antique condition with acceptable wear that includes interior glaze wear and firing flaws, as shown. One chip on the exterior base and minor wear and imperfections to rim and handles. No restoration. Glaze color is cream-colored and not white.
