Antique English upholstered foot stools, with gilded faux bamboo feet and frames, late 19th century. These small ladies foot stools retain their original upholstered covering -one being a needlepoint, the other a well-worn, cut velvet green – and both are filled with horsehair.
Both are low-rising. The needlepoint covered stool has simple feet that replace the original x-frame configuration. This alteration is old, and not recent, as evidenced by the wear found on the feet ends – perhaps the alteration fulfilled a personal preference, or more practically, salvaged a stool that was in need of repair. In any case, both retain charm and decorative appeal, and this is in part, due to their well-worn state. They’re structurally sound, and both are in very good antique condition. Please Note: Child's silk slippers are not included.
Size: Needlepoint stool measures 10” x 8” x 4” in height. Velvet upholstered stool measures 11” x 8” x 7” in height.
