Large antique Bulgarian bentwood dry grain measure, circa early 1900s. Constructed from solid beechwood, and reinforced at the rim with a thick band, that not only improves the sturdiness, but also facilitates easier handling of the measure – in particular a heavily filled measure. The seamed side is also reinforced with an added strip.
Condition: Excellent original antique condition, with acceptable wear and a desirable patina. There is some shrinking evident around the base rim, as shown. However, it is securely intact, and there are no repairs.
Size: Diameter is 13 ¾”. Height is 6 ¾”.
