19th century Ottoman tinned copper lidded serving dish. A visually beautiful, hand-hammered heavy copper piece, retaining its original tinning with only a hint of the copper peering through. Tin is one of those metals that becomes more beautiful as it ages over time, and this piece is a fine example of that. The textured surface and rich patina enhances its already attractive form – a scalloped edge shallow bowl, covered with a raised, cascading-dome lid.
SUPERB, original antique condition. No repairs. Unmarked.
Size: Maximum height to lid finial is 6”. The bowl has a top diameter of 9” and is 1 ½” deep.
