English enamel kitchen storage canister for SULTANAS, c.1890-1900. This is an example of the earlier enamelware canisters produced, and dates to around the late Victorian era, early Edwardian era. It has black enameled lettering over a white ground and shows early seamed construction methods. Enamel kitchenware at the time, was mainly produced in white, as white gave the appearance of being clean and hygienic.
Condition: Clean, excellent and usable condition. Minor wear including enamel loss around the rims. Please view all image.
Size: Height to lid finial is 7”. Canister diameter 4 ¾” and depth is 5”.
