Mid-19th century hand-blown glass pharmacy bottle for Carbo e Populo. Decorative apothecary jar with an ornamental label (adhered from the inside) and a toleware lid. The glass has air bubbles and pronounced striations, and the base has a polished pontil scar. It comes in very good antique condition commensurate with the age and function: The back of the label is blackened by its charcoal contents and there is typical wear to the painted tin lid. There are no chips on the glass. No restoration.
