This incredibly Rare and Special Art-Deco era Bakelite Brooch brings to every ensemble over 80 years of Springtime "stories." The history and nostalgia carved into this precious pin is palpable and perfect. It is a highly Collectible part of the "early plastics" fashion revolution. Hand-carved and painted with an attention to detail not often seen or appreciated, it stands out with a shine and brilliance that only Vintage jewelry can bring....
It is made of Applejuice Bakelite resin/plastic - a "color" that is hard to find and forever fabulous. This large brooch was made with care, intention and talent - it displays a level of craftsmanship that is not often found "today." I love this pin - and hope that you will too. It has a feel about it that is both luxury and love...almost like a "worry-stone" - the years have added a patina and softness to its "edges" that will make you feel a sense of peace and pretty.
The front of the brooch is a smooth beveled oval shape, with "ruffled" edges - the back of the pin has a fine honey-comb carving that makes the piece stand out with a 3-D effect. There are 9 reverse carved flowers that look lovely and life-like, with bright hues of red, green and yellow - it is absolutely incredible to think of the artistry that went into making this Bakelite beauty!
It is in excellent Vintage condition - this pin is almost flawless, no scratches, chips or damage. The C-pin clasp is Original and secure.
Measurements - approximately 3" in length, 2" tall and 1/4" wide.
I test and guarantee all of my Bakelite pieces...I want my Clients to feel confident that they have invested in a true, Vintage item. I have attached photos of this brooch to provide a better "picture" of its condition, wear, and style. Please feel welcome to message me anytime with questions!
