I am pleased to be showing an antique child's straw bonnet from the late 1800's. It is small enough that is could be used on a 24 - 28 inch doll depending on the head shape and wig thickness. Be sure to check the measurements to see if it will fit your doll. It is in amazing near original condition considering it is 120+ years old. It has a tag inside that is most likely a museum catalogue number. Talk about museum quality. I assume the hat was once in a museum and was sold as part of a museum de-acquisition. The ribbon ties and the ribbon in the bow on the top are all original. The silk ribbon in the bow is sound but the ends are quite frayed. The straw base is all original with no breaks or nibbles. The white silk lining inside the hat is quite worn and is splitting some. There is a gold stamped label under the lining. I could not make out all of it but could read "No. 8 East 14th Street New York" The velvet trim on the inside of the head opening and around the edges of the straw base are worn on the edges. Stand is not included.
The hat is 8 inches tall
The hat is 4 inches deep
The hat is 7 inches wide
The head opening is 5 1/4 inches wide
The face opening from the ties, around the top and back down is 15 1/2 inches
The neck opening from the tie, around the back is 7 1/2 inches
The head circumference over the wig is 15 inches.
