I am proud to present a stunning example of an early antique character faced Kestner doll. She is a Kestner mold 129. The head has the Kestner alphabet number sequence so it was made starting in 1897 through the early 1900's. Kestner's 129 mold was intended as lower cost competition for the very expensive French Jumeau's. This doll has factory sleep eyes and a more steeply angled cut to the head opening to emulate the French dolls of the period.

The original Kestner body is in amazing original condition with no wear on the hands or the fingers. The body has loose balls in the shoulder, elbow and knee joints, again to emulate popular French dolls. She is wearing antique onesie and slip. The dress, bonnet and shoes are more recent couture pieces made using vintage materials and trim. She has the original Kestner plaster pate. She has her original mohair wig.

Layaway is possible on this doll. Please contact me for details.

Condition of Doll for Sale

The bisque head has been examined under black light and is perfect with no chips, cracks, rubs or repaint. The wax on the eyes is intact but it has darkened some.
The body has its original finish with no cracks, crazing, repairs or repaint. Some of the varnish on the belly has been washed off. The dress is in good shape with no foxing, stains, rips or repairs. There are some stains and holes on the onesie.

Note: For bisque head dolls I use USPS "Special Handling Fragile" service which provides separate handling for packages. The charge is $11.15 which is added to the insurance charge in the Ruby Lane shipping summary. I feel this extra charge is appropriate to insure trouble free shipping of your fragile purchases.

The doll may have wear and flaws seen in used dolls. I try to describe significant flaws in my text and show them in picture. Read the text and examine the pictures to be sure you understand the dolls condition. If you have questions please email me.
