The Doll Fixer
is now SOLDDescription of Doll for Sale
This is a stunning example of a Madame Alexander hard plastic Maggie faced Alice in Wonderland doll from the 1950's. Alice has little to no joint rubs. Her hair is in it's original factory set with the original ties. The curls on the back of the wig are a little loose. Her eyes are bright blue and have full lashes. They stick just slightly some times, but do open and close fully. Alice has her original tagged pink dress and apron with her original slip and panties. She is wearing her original seamed stockings and side snap shoes. The dress has a stain on one side of the skirt. There are some small holes in the organdy apron. I tried to take a picture of one of the larger holes and have highlighted it.
Alice has her original Fashion Academy Award tag. Madame Alexander received four Fashion Academy Gold Medals from 1951 through 1954 for her clothing design. The award is significant because it was awarded for over all fashion design and was not specific to dolls. This doll was the first Maggie faced Alice in Wonderland doll. The Maggie face was used in a long line of latter Alice in Wonderland dolls.
Measurements
The doll is 14 inches tall.
