This is a great antique bisque head boy made in Germany by Simon & Halbig made between 1910 and the early 1920's. He has sleep eyes and an open mouth with inset teeth. The boy has been redressed in a cute sailor inspired suit and cap. The suit is well made and the jacket is even lined. He is wearing an antique chemise and matching pair of bloomers. The undies are a little lacy but still nice for a boy. He also has nice replacement wig. The body has it's original factory finish with no crazing.
The 500 series heads were made by Simon and Halbig. Many of the heads in the series were made specifically for other doll companies. It is not clear from the records if the 530 head was made for a specific company or if it was actually sold by Simon & Halbig
The doll is 21 inches tall.
The head is marked as follows:
530 // Germany // Simon Halbig // S & H
Condition of Doll for Sale

The antique body has its original finish with no cracks, crazing, repairs or repaint. There are no broken or repaired fingers and toes. There are some paint chips on one shoulder and the edges of some body joints. The clothes are in good shape with no foxing, stains, rips or repairs.
Note: For bisque head dolls I use USPS "Special Handling Fragile" service which provides separate handling for packages. The charge is $11.15 which is added to the insurance charge in the Ruby Lane shipping summary. I feel this extra charge is appropriate to insure trouble free shipping of your fragile purchases.
