Description of Doll for Sale
For your pleasure I am pleased to present cute example of a bisque head baby doll by Kammer Reinhardt (K & R). This doll was made in Germany and is 19 - 20 inches long when laid on his back. He is mold number 126 and is called "Mein Lieblingsbaby" (My Darling Baby). The 126 mold was first released in 1914 and was in production on and off till the late 1920's. The head was fired by Simon Halbig based on a design master head provided by Kammer Reinhardt (K star R). While some references list this doll as a Simon Halbig doll it was only sold by Kammer Reinhardt. The doll has glass sleep eyes and a treble tongue. It is wearing a vintage mohair wig that is likely original to the doll. The wig is full and really suits the doll
The doll is on a 5 piece baby body. The body is made of bisqualoid which is a mixture of porcelain clay and celluloid. Bisquealoid is molded like porcelain to provide exceptional detail but is nearly unbreakable like composition. The body has been expertly repainted.
He is wearing a flannel jacket and diaper cover. The flannel has developed a nubby finish from being washed.
The head is marked as follows:
K (star) R // Simon Halbig // 126
